Interested in "brownfields?"
Blue Mountain Community College, cities and counties of Eastern Oregon, the State of Oregon, including environmental agencies, and other interested parties will attend a Brownfields Conference and luncheon, March 1-2, 2007 in Salem, Oregon.
Oregon Department of Economic and Community Development, the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, the city of Salem and the Northwest Environmental Business Council have announced that Bill Lunch, OSU Professor and Political Analyst for Oregon PublicBroadcasting, will be the featured luncheon speaker during the Oregon Brownfields Conference to beheld March 1-2 at the Salem Conference Center, Salem.
Registration reportedly is still open at http://www.nebc.org/brownfields for what they are calling "this unparalleled learning and networking opportunity."
They are proposing that "what's behind Brown is the New Green."
Conference sessions are designed to target the educational needs of all brownfields practitioners, from experienced professionals to those just beginning to redevelop contaminated properties.
Registration was reported to be $100 for the "public sector, non-profits, and academia," and $150-all for others. A limited number of both full and partial scholarships to cover registration fees and/or hotel expenses were said to be still available for public and private individuals involved in brownfields redevelopment. But "going fast."

Newly this year, conference's trade show is supposed to bring "the Northwest's best technologies and services to one location to assist with brownfields challenges."
